American expat clients from Orlando. Full renovation of a Haussmann apartment in central Strasbourg, with British-library interiors. Concept signed before the family had set foot in France.
Our clients moved from Orlando, Florida, to Strasbourg without ever stepping inside the property they had just bought. They needed a fully signed, fully designed interior, ready for them to walk in on day one. We took the brief in English, ran the work in French, and shipped photos every week.
The architectural anchor of the project is a deep-blue library spanning the full length of the living room. Floor-to-ceiling lacquered shelving, integrated reading nook, original Haussmann mouldings preserved and repainted in the same blue to absorb the rest of the room into one continuous gesture.
Both bedrooms were stripped to brick and rebuilt with bespoke wardrobes, blackout curtains and acoustic insulation, the family arrived directly from a long-haul flight and slept the first night without any settling-in. The kitchen was rebuilt around a hand-built oak island with terrazzo flooring and brushed-brass fixtures.
Everything from joinery to art selection was approved by video call. The keys were handed over with the beds made, the fridge stocked, and the WiFi running.
