A 140 sq m contemporary home, taken on at shell stage. Imagined as a place where the freshness of natural stone meets the warmth of oiled oak, with a custom kitchen at its core.
The house was delivered to us at shell stage, with raw concrete floors, plastered walls, and no fixtures. We were asked to design every surface and every joinery piece from scratch, for a young family moving from Paris.
The dominant material is travertine, used continuously on the floor of every common space. Its open pores give the surface a subtle, sun-bleached softness that anchors the whole palette.
The kitchen was hand-built in oiled French oak, with a fluted island and a hidden pantry behind a pivoting wall. The dining table was carved from a single oak slab sourced in the Vosges.
Bedrooms are minimal: oak floors, white plaster walls, integrated linen curtains. The master bathroom uses a single block of travertine for the vanity and bath surround.
