Full renovation in Marseille’s 7th arrondissement, led by Perrine. Kitchen completely reworked as the heart of the home, with stone counters, brushed brass and Mediterranean ceramic detailing.
Marseille’s 7e arrondissement is the city’s oldest residential quarter, perched above the Vieux-Port. The apartment sat on the second floor of a 19th-century bourgeois building, and had been split into two student studios in the 1990s.
We reunited the two halves into a single 88 sq m apartment built around the kitchen. The kitchen sits at the geometric centre of the plan, lit by a borrowed light from the living room and an existing skylight we restored.
Counters are honed marble from a quarry in Saint-Béat. Cabinets are matt blue lacquer, fluted on the visible faces. The backsplash is glazed terracotta tile from a kiln in Salernes (Var), hand-laid by a local tiler in a herringbone pattern.
The master bedroom and bathroom were rebuilt as a single suite with a freestanding tub and a custom walk-in dressing room behind the headboard wall.
